MoPH Signs $5.3 Million Agreement with AAH to Strengthen Polio Vaccination in Uruzgan and Helmand
The Ministry of Public Health has signed a $5.3 million contract with Action Against Hunger (AAH) to strengthen oral polio vaccine (OPV) immunization efforts in Uruzgan and Helmand provinces.
The one-year contract was signed to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare services and address public health needs. Under the agreement, 487,156 residents of the two provinces will receive oral polio vaccination services through 50 health facilities, while 422 jobs will be created in the healthcare sector.
Meanwhile, representatives of AAH assured that the project would be implemented over the course of one year in accordance with all established standards, with particular attention to meeting the healthcare needs of local communities.
