MoPH Minister Meets India’s Chargé d’Affaires to Strengthen Health Cooperation

Afghanistan’s Minister of Public Health, H.E. Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, met with India’s Chargé d’Affaires, Yatin Patel, at his office to discuss the expansion of health cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides discussed strengthening healthcare services and expanding health cooperation between the two countries.

H.E. Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali expressed his appreciation for India’s continued cooperation in the health sector and requested further assistance in several key areas, including support for Indira Gandhi Hospital, the provision of vaccines against communicable diseases, advanced medical equipment for the cancer hospital, capacity-building for healthcare workers, and the establishment of a Thalassemia Department at Indira Gandhi Hospital.

Meanwhile, India’s Chargé d’Affaires reaffirmed his country’s continued support for Afghanistan’s health sector and said that India would further expand its cooperation with the MoPH in providing sustained support to Indira Gandhi Hospital, equipping its Thalassemia Department, and supplying chemotherapy medicines and radiotherapy equipment for cancer treatment.

He also assured the MoPH of India’s full cooperation in strengthening the capacity of healthcare workers, adding that his country would further expand its health cooperation with the people of Afghanistan.
