Ministry of Public Health Highlights Key Achievements Over the Past Year
As part of the “Government in the Mirror of the Media” program and on the occasion of Health and Sports Week, Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, shared the Ministry of Public Health’s key achievements over the past year at a press conference.
During 1447 AH, the Ministry of Public Health developed the National Health Strategy, a Five-Year Strategic Plan, and a new package of health services aimed at strengthening the country’s health system. The Ministry also developed 332 guidelines, clinical protocols, and legislative and regulatory documents.
In addition, more than 10,000 health workers received training, 60 health projects were completed and made operational, and construction and rehabilitation work is currently underway on 103 health facilities and hospitals.
During the same period, 92.7 million outpatient health services and more than 2.1 million inpatient services were provided to people across the country.
Furthermore, more than 109,000 samples of medicines, food products, and health products were tested and assessed. A total of 1,295 metric tons of illegal, expired, and substandard products were destroyed. To further expand health services, 350 memoranda of understanding were signed with national and international partners.
