The initiative was orchestrated by the Forensic Directorate of the Ministry of Public Health, in close coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), which provided both financial backing and technical expertise.

The training brought together staff from the public health directorates of the southeastern and central provinces—Bamyan, Maidan Wardak, Paktika, Logar, Paktia, Ghazni, and Khost—and was hosted in Ghazni province. Participants, including both forensic medical workers and emergency specialists, were brought up to speed on advanced practices by seasoned instructors.

The workshop featured interactive sessions, offering hands-on experience guided by subject-matter experts.

Bringing the event to a close, the Director of Forensic Medicine, Mawlawi Najibullah Farooqi, delivered a comprehensive keynote address highlighting the pivotal role of forensic medicine in public health and justice. He emphasized the importance of multi-agency collaboration and encouraged participants to translate their new skills into practical outcomes within their professional environments.
