MoPH Holds Refresher Training to Strengthen Influenza Surveillance System

Mufti Abdul Qudus Hashimi, Director General of Monitoring and Inspection of the Ministry of Public Health, attended a two-day refresher training program for influenza assistants and assistant associates from the country's eight health zones.

Mufti Abdul Qudus Hashimi highlighted the importance of disease surveillance, describing it as a vital system for the early detection of diseases, timely reporting, and effective response and control.

He emphasized that standardizing the influenza surveillance programme, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, improving laboratory specimen collection and transport, and strengthening data quality are essential for effective public health decision-making. He encouraged participants to apply the knowledge gained through the training, share their experiences, and work together to further strengthen the influenza surveillance system.

Notably, the two-day refresher training programme was attended by 21 influenza assistants and associate assistants from the country's eight health zones.
