Kabul, Afghanistan – The Environmental Health Directorate of the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has launched a targeted awareness campaign aimed at preventing the spread of Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF). As part of this initiative, 20,000 informational posters were distributed across various districts of Kabul.

The campaign specifically focused on raising public awareness about Congo virus transmission, and educational materials were delivered to both livestock vendors and members of the general public in high-risk urban areas.

This preventive action has been carried out in coordination with relevant departments of the Ministry of Public Health as part of its commitment to safeguarding public health

Officials from the Environmental Health Directorate emphasized that the core objectives of the campaign include reducing the risk of virus transmission, protecting vulnerable populations, and lowering the mortality rate associated with this severe and potentially fatal disease.

As part of the outreach effort, Kabul residents were also advised to visit designated health centers if symptoms appear and were encouraged to actively engage in the campaign by distributing and promoting the informational materials within their communities.
