A ten-bed haemodialysis unit has been officially put into operation at Helmand Provincial Hospital
The opening ceremony was attended by Helmand Governor Haji Maulvi Amaanuddin Mansoor, Public Health Director Dr. Naqibullah Fateh, as well as a number of other officials and healthcare workers.
The unit, equipped with modern medical equipment, was constructed through a joint effort between the Helmand Public Health Directorate and the Fatima Charity Foundation at a cost of 13 million Afghanis. It will provide professional services to patients suffering from severe kidney diseases.
The Director of Public Health of Helmand expressed gratitude to the officials of the Fatima Charity Foundation for implementing this important project. He stated that the opening of this ten-bed unit marks a significant development in the healthcare sector, adding that patients will now be able to receive treatment within their own province, reducing the need to travel to other provinces.
