MoPH Signs $1.7 Million Agreement with AFGA to Expand Maternal Health and Family Planning Services

The Ministry of Public Health has signed a contract worth $1,697,006 with the Afghan Family Guidance Association (AFGA) to expand access to maternal health and family planning services for women and girls in remote areas of Kabul, Kapisa, Logar, Samangan, Balkh, Jawzjan, Sar-e-Pul, Herat, Ghazni, and Paktika provinces through health posts, static health facilities, mobile teams, and medicine warehouses.

The one-year contract was signed to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare services and help address the health needs of the population. Under the contract, 259,395 people in the aforementioned provinces will receive healthcare services through 44 health facilities, while 150 employment opportunities will be created in the health sector.

Representatives of AFGA also assured that the project would be implemented in line with all established standards within one year, with a strong focus on meeting the healthcare needs of the population.
