MoPH Minister Meets Sancharak Elders, Discusses Expansion of Healthcare Services
Afghanistan’s Minister of Public Health, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, met with community elders from Sancharak District of Sar-e-Pul Province at his office.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohammad Hassan Ghiyasi, Deputy Minister for Health Development and Policy. Discussions focused on the current state of healthcare services in the district, improving services at the existing hospital, constructing a new district-level general hospital, and improving local residents’ access to healthcare.
The community elders highlighted the district’s geographical challenges and limited access to healthcare services, stressing the need to expand health services in the area. They thanked the MoPH’s leadership for approving the establishment of a district-level general hospital in Sancharak. They noted that the area had received little substantial investment in healthcare over the past two decades and described the hospital project as a major step towards expanding and strengthening healthcare services for the local population.
The Minister listened to the elders’ concerns and proposals and issued the necessary instructions to relevant officials to address the district’s healthcare challenges as a priority.
He further emphasized that the MoPH is working to establish district-level general hospitals across the country, expand existing healthcare services, and ensure that all citizens have access to quality healthcare. He added that practical measures and efforts to achieve these objectives are ongoing.
