Five-day Workshop Launched for 30 Trainers by the Directorate of Communicable Disease Control (AIDS and Hepatitis Control National Program)

A five-day workshop has been launched for 30 trainers by the Directorate General of Communicable Disease Control under the Ministry of Public Health’s Directorate of Disease Control and Prevention, in collaboration with the AIDS and Hepatitis Control National Program officials. The workshop is financially supported by Japan and organized in cooperation with UNODC.

The main objective of the workshop is to reduce the harms caused by drug use in Afghanistan, with a special focus on controlling and preventing HIV and Hepatitis.

Notably, the workshop emphasized mutual coordination and collaboration for effective combat against HIV, Hepatitis, and drug abuse. Comprehensive presentations were delivered on the transmission of dangerous communicable diseases through intravenous drug use.
