WHO Hands Over Medical Equipment to the National Cancer Control Programme During Health Partnership Meeting

The Ministry of Public Health's Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Hospital hosted a meeting with international health partners, during which the World Health Organization handed over essential medical equipment to the National Cancer Control Programme.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister for Health Services of the Ministry of Public Health, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani; the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Afghanistan, Mirdif bin Ali Al-Qashouti; representatives of the World Health Organization; central directors; officials of the National Cancer Control Programme; and healthcare staff of the Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Hospital. Discussions focused on strengthening, sustaining, and expanding health cooperation.

The Deputy Minister expressed his gratitude for the cooperation of the WHO and described it as an important and reliable partner of the Ministry. He stated, This meeting is not merely organized for the handover of some medical equipment; rather, it reflects joint cooperation across all sectors.

Dr. Khalid Ahmad Khalid, Technical and Scientific Deputy of the National Cancer Control Programme, delivered a comprehensive presentation providing detailed information on the Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Hospital.

Meanwhile, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Afghanistan and representatives of the World Health Organization also delivered remarks, reaffirming their commitment to continued support for the development of Afghanistan’s health sector.
