A Meeting Held to Improve the Services of the National Cancer Control Program

A meeting aimed at enhancing the services of the National Cancer Control Program was convened, attended by Honorable Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, Deputy Minister for Health Service at the Ministry of Public Health, and representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO). During the meeting, both sides engaged in discussions and exchanged views on strengthening the National Cancer Control Program and improving coordination.

Later in the session, Dr. Manuel, WHO’s Head of the Noncommunicable Diseases, Addiction Treatment, and Mental Health Unit, delivered a presentation in which he outlined several key standards and recommendations to the participants. These suggestions were intended to help align the program with international standards and enhance the quality of its service delivery.

The Deputy Minister expressed his gratitude for WHO’s continued support and assured participants that the Ministry would instruct the relevant departments to consider and implement the critical points presented, in order to ensure that cancer patients receive the essential health services they require.
