The Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, attended the annual coordination meeting dedicated to the polio eradication program, where the primary objective was to critically assess the current advancements in the initiative while also elucidating the existing challenges that hinder its progress.

During this meeting, which was attended by distinguished figures such as AlHaj Dr. Abdul Qudus Baryali, the Director of the National Emergency Operational Center for Polio Eradication, as well as health directors from various provinces and officials from the Public Immunization Program, the minister emphasized the urgent need for a concerted effort to develop effective strategies aimed at overcoming the obstacles faced by the program.

In his address, His Excellency Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali asserted that the Ministry of Public Health is unwaveringly committed to ensuring equitable access to healthcare services for citizens throughout all regions of the country; thus, he urged implementing organizations to collaborate closely with international partners to significantly enhance the quality of healthcare provided to patients residing in remote and underserved areas.

Furthermore, he underscored the importance of the polio vaccination campaign, which is set to be systematically executed across all regions, neighborhoods, and mosques, thereby ensuring comprehensive immunization coverage for the entire population.

In a bid to foster effective communication and prompt problem-solving, the minister directed provincial health directors to expeditiously report any challenges encountered by the implementing organizations to the Ministry of Public Health, thereby enabling a swift and coordinated response to potential issues.
