Training Sessions on the Prevention and Management of Noncommunicable Diseases (NCD) Held for Healthcare Workers in Badakhshan Province
The Noncommunicable Diseases Prevention and Control Department of the MoPH’s Directorate General of Disease Prevention and Control conducted a four-day training for 25 doctors and three-day training sessions for 25 midwives and 50 community health workers. The training covered NCD prevention and control, early diagnosis and treatment, patient referral, case management, and health counseling, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and manage noncommunicable diseases.
Dr. Mohammad Sami Karimi, Head of the Noncommunicable Disease Prevention and Control Department of the MoPH, highlighted the vital role of doctors and community health workers in preventing and controlling noncommunicable diseases. He noted that it is not feasible to train all healthcare workers in this area and urged participants to share the knowledge and skills gained during the training with their colleagues at health facilities, hospitals, and in communities, helping strengthen the capacity of healthcare workers to prevent and manage NCDs.
At the end of the workshop, participants were provided with brochures and posters on the prevention and control of NCD to support public awareness activities and promote preventive health messages in their respective communities.
