A training program has been launched in the Food and Drug Authority of the Ministry of Public Health to digitize the licensing system processes

A three-day training program titled “Digitalization of Licensing System Processes” has been launched by the IT Directorate of the Food and Drug Authority of the MoPH, in collaboration with the WHO. The program is being conducted for 45 staff members and officials, and is attended by directors, advisors, and experts from various departments of the Directorate, as well as representatives of pharmacies, wholesale distributors, and associations of pharmaceutical and medical product importing companies.

In this program, the Deputy Minister of Public Health for Food and Drugs, Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, referring to the Quran guidance that important responsibilities should be entrusted to those who are deserving, emphasized that the main objectives of system development and the digitalization of processes are to ensure transparency, enhance efficiency, prevent shortcomings in service delivery, and safeguard the rights of clients.

The Deputy Minister also announced that the process of digitalizing the Directorate’s licensing system has been completed, stating that henceforth all licenses for pharmaceutical-related establishments will be issued in digital form. He also urged representatives of the relevant associations to ensure that existing establishments renew their licenses digitally under the new system.

The three-day training program will cover the digital transformation project, the licensing management system, workflow processes and procedures, practical training on application registration and tracking, familiarization with the system’s technical components, review of licensing laws and regulations, and the introduction of the import and export information system.
