Mosquito Net Distribution Campaign is Launched in Three Provinces of the Eastern Region
A mosquito net distribution campaign was launched in the eastern region with the participation of Dr. Hizbullah Fitrat, Head of the National Malaria Control Program of the Ministry of Public Health, and Mawlawi Aminullah Sharif, Director of Public Health of Nangarhar Province. The campaign aims to prevent the spread of malaria and dengue.
In its first phase, the campaign has been launched in Naziyan and Dur Baba districts of Nangarhar Province, Dara-e-Pech District of Kunar Province, and Alishang District of Laghman Province. In the subsequent phases, it will gradually expand to cover all districts across these three provinces.
According to the implementation plan, a total of 1,450,000 mosquito nets will be distributed in Nangarhar Province, 425,000 in Kunar Province, and 48,520 in Laghman Province during the campaign.
In addition, the distribution of 97,524 mosquito nets through ANC1 (First Antenatal Care) services for pregnant women across the eastern region is ongoing. The distribution of 132,787 mosquito nets for returning refugees through the Torkham border crossing will also begin soon.
