MoPH Minister Meets Russian Health Minister to Strengthen Bilateral Health Cooperation
During his official visit, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, Minister of Public Health of the IEA, met with Mikhail Albertovich Murashko, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation.
The two sides discussed the expansion of long-term health cooperation between Afghanistan and Russia, strengthening the health sector and health system development, cooperation on and the import of medicines, vaccines and medical equipment, capacity-building for health workers, the transfer of new and advanced medical technologies, and a number of other important health-related issues.
H.E. Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali briefed his Russian counterpart on the needs and priorities of Afghanistan’s health sector and called for increased cooperation from Russia in improving the quality of health services, strengthening the professional capacities of health workers, and developing modern medical facilities and services.
For his part, Mikhail Albertovich Murashko expressed Russia’s readiness to provide technical cooperation to support the strengthening of Afghanistan’s health sector. He stated that Russia is prepared to expand technical cooperation with Afghanistan in the health sector and work to further strengthen health relations between the two countries.
The two sides also emphasized the need to further strengthen communication and coordination between the relevant institutions to ensure the continuation and expansion of joint cooperation in the health sector.
