MoPH Launches Drug Awareness and Prevention Program in Kabul

Officials from the Addiction Prevention Committee, Directorate of the National Addiction Treatment Program of the MoPH, launched a drug awareness and prevention program at the Atlas Academic Center in Karte Naw, Kabul.

The “Be the Hero of Your Life” awareness and prevention program was held with students from the Atlas Scientific Academy and their staff. The initiative aimed to raise youth awareness about drug prevention and encourage healthy decision-making.

During the program, counselors and psychologists from the Addiction Prevention Committee highlighted the dangers of the “silent drug tsunami”, the importance of awareness and prevention, peer pressure, the skill of saying “no”, the principle of “strong mind = strong prevention”, and the role of families and communities in protecting and supporting youth.

The program concluded with a positive response from the youth, who emphasized the need for more awareness initiatives in the future.
