The Ministry of Public Health Holds Coordination Meeting with International Partners and Representatives of Organizations on Acute Diarrheal Disease Response
The meeting, attended by Dr. Haider Khan Haider, Director General of Disease Prevention and Control of the MoPH, along with several other officials and representatives of relevant central directorates, focused on the control and prevention of acute diarrheal disease outbreaks, addressing existing challenges, strengthening preparedness, and implementing effective response measures.
The Director General emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts, effective coordination, rapid response, the implementation of preventive measures, and the continued support of international partners to ensure the effective control and prevention of acute diarrheal disease outbreaks. He stated that the MoPH, in coordination with relevant stakeholders, is taking the necessary measures to prevent these outbreaks and protect public health, with the aim of containing the spread of the disease.
A presentation was also delivered on the reported confirmed cases of acute diarrheal disease outbreaks across the country, with particular emphasis on the eastern provinces, especially Nangarhar Province. Participants also exchanged views and shared recommendations on the prevention and control of the outbreaks.
The meeting also concluded with key decisions aimed at strengthening the prevention and control of the outbreaks. In addition, a presentation on the WASH programme was delivered, highlighting the implementation of preventive measures and promoting the use of safe drinking water.
