Foundation Laid for First of 318 District Hospitals in Jowzjan, Expanding Rural Healthcare Access
During his official visit to Jowzjan Province, the IEA Minister of Public Health, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, laid the foundation stone for the Mangajik District General Hospital, a project valued at over 50 million Afghanis
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Public Health, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, and his accompanying delegation, along with the Governor of Jowzjan, Mawlawi Abdullah Sarhadi, the Director of Public Health, Sayed Zabihullah Hosseini, other officials, and local residents.
The Minister of Public Health described the hospital as important for improving access to healthcare, reducing patients’ hardship, and providing essential services. He said such projects would improve the quality of healthcare services in remote areas and ensure a timely response to people’s needs. He added that the Ministry is working to expand standardized healthcare services nationwide, particularly in remote districts, and to address the basic health needs of the population through such initiatives.
Notably, this is the first hospital among 318 district general hospitals to have its foundation stone formally laid by the Minister of Public Health. This step is expected to provide practical momentum to the expansion of healthcare services in districts and improve access to primary and secondary health services.
