AFDA Highlights Achievements and Introduces Halal Products Evaluation Delegation

The Afghanistan Food and Drug Authority (AFDA) of the Ministry of Public Health held a meeting to highlight its achievements and recent developments and to introduce the Halal Products Evaluation Delegation.

The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Public Health, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, and attended by the Ministry’s deputy ministers, central directors, advisers, and specialists from various fields. The meeting provided an overview of the achievements and plans of various departments of the AFDA, including the expansion of traditional and alternative medicine, the inspection and re-registration of pharmacies, the digitalization of work processes, and the activities of the contact center.

Furthermore, the Halal Products Evaluation Delegation, recently established under the AFDA and approved by the Office of the Prime Minister, was formally introduced. The delegation is responsible for inspecting and evaluating products to verify their halal status and ensure compliance with established halal standards. The meeting also highlighted the objectives and significance of the delegation’s work in this area.

At the conclusion of the meeting, emphasis was placed on strengthening coordination, improving work processes, and ensuring the provision of transparent and standardized services in the areas of food, medicines, and health products.
