A technical delegation from the Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, led by Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, Deputy Minister for Food and Drugs, paid an official visit to India, where it held separate meetings with officials from India’s Central Drugs Control and Regulatory Authority, the authority responsible for regulating food imports, and the Ministry of Ayush, which oversees traditional and alternative healthcare systems.

During the meetings, the two sides held comprehensive discussions on finalizing cooperation agreements between Afghanistan and India, the process of evaluating Indian pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, and challenges related to the importation of food products.

To ensure more effective coordination and follow-up, it was also agreed that the two sides would address outstanding issues through online meetings on a timely basis. The Indian side will share its technical comments on the draft cooperation agreements with the Afghan side, with the aim of facilitating their finalization through diplomatic channels and creating the necessary conditions for their signing.
