The Ministry of Public Health held a meeting of the National Board for Reviewing Health Sector Innovations

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohammad Hassan Ghiasy, Deputy Minister for Health Promotion and Policy; Dr. Sayed Rasool Mangal, Director General of Planning and Policy; Dr. Merwais Ahmadzai, Director of Health Economics and Financing; advisers to the Minister and deputy minister's offices; several other senior officials and central directors; and representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Kabul Medical University.

The Deputy Minister stated, "The board was established to identify, gather, and evaluate innovations in the health sector. Its technical body can play an important role in improving the quality, reach, and effectiveness of healthcare services, while supporting evidence-based decision-making."

In addition, the Ministry of Public Health’s Director General of Planning and Policy and Director of Health Economics and Financing briefed participants on the activities, funding needs, and importance of the Innovation Review Board, while attendees shared their views and recommendations.
