Inspections in Herat and Baghlan Lead to Closure of Pharmacies and Seizure of Expired Medicines and Food Items
The appointed delegation of the General Department for Monitoring and Inspection of the import and distribution of medicines and health products of the Herat Public Health Directorate conducted inspections of (8) pharmacies in various districts of the province.
As a result of the inspection, six pharmacies were closed for failing to maintain proper records of transfers, invoices, and stock management. In addition, 21 types of expired medicines were collected from these pharmacies and sent to the relevant authority for disposal.
The delegation also inspected seven food centers in Behzad Street and Imam Muslim 11 area of Herat province, during which 54 expired food items weighing around 127 kilograms were collected and sent for disposal.
The General Department of Pharmaceutical Facilities under the Baghlan Public Health Directorate conducted a comprehensive monitoring of 13 pharmacies and the Ensaaf 24-hour charity health center in the Qasaba Gumbadi and Shashsad Koti Qol-e-Palang area of Pul-e-Khumri capital city, resulting in the closure of six pharmacies for violating health regulations.
