Assessment of Food and Drugs Safety Begins in Kandahar

A technical delegation from the Afghanistan Food and Drug Authority (AFDA) of the Ministry of Public Health, led by Dr. Sayed Momin Khan Fedaee, Director of Food Risk Analysis and Surveillance, has begun assessing the food and drug sectors in Kandahar Province to strengthen monitoring and inspection, address existing challenges, and enhance food and drug safety.

The delegation held a consultative meeting with health officials, listened to the concerns of stakeholders, and visited several food manufacturing factories and proposed sites for the establishment of pharmaceutical manufacturing factories.

During these visits, compliance with food safety requirements and the technical standards for establishing manufacturing facilities were assessed, and the necessary guidance was provided.
