Afghanistan's Minister of Public Health, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, held a coordination meeting with donors and international partners

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Health Services, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani; as well as representatives from the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the World Bank, Gavi, and other donor organizations. Participants discussed the current status of Afghanistan's health sector, the importance of aid, and future plans. The Minister of Public Health emphasized that effective resource management, adherence to the principle of transparency, and the fight against corruption are shared responsibilities in ensuring the delivery of quality and efficient services. He further noted that after 2026, a clear and long-term strategic plan for Afghanistan's health sector will be introduced, defining the roles of the ministry’s donors and ensuring the logical integration of services following a comprehensive assessment.

His Excellency Jalali, the Minister of Public Health, emphasized that a new health strategy is being developed to strengthen the public health sector. He also mentioned that the review of BPHS and EPHS services has started, aiming to enhance the quality of primary and secondary health care, safeguard public health, and better respond to the needs of the people.
