A Workshop Was Held to Assess the Needs for Establishing a 100-Bed Heart Disease Hospital in Kabul
In this workshop, the Deputy Minister of Health Promotion and Policy of the Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Mohammad Hasan Ghiyasy, central directors of the Ministry, representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Islamic Development Bank, and construction companies participated.
The purpose of this workshop was to effectively advance the process of establishing a 100-bed hospital for treating heart condition in Kabul, a project that is being financially supported by the Islamic Development Bank, the Ministry of Public Health, construction companies, and partner organizations.
At the opening of this workshop, the Deputy Minister of Health Promotion and Policy of the Ministry of Public Health stated: “It is a matter of pleasure that today we witness the beginning of the construction of a 100-bed hospital for the treatment of heart patients in Kabul, which represents an important and effective step toward improving the country’s healthcare system.”
His Excellency further added that the Ministry of Public Health has taken necessary measures in the treatment of communicable diseases, which are now declining. He also emphasized that the Ministry’s leadership has performed effective work in the field of non-communicable diseases, citing the services provided by the Indira Gandhi Children’s Treatment Hospital (IGICH) and Ibn-e-Sina Cardiac Hospital.
Additionally, Dr. Syed Rasool Mangal, the Director General of Planning and Policy at the Ministry of Public Health, stated: “Since the advent of the Islamic Emirate, significant positive changes have occurred across various sectors of the country, and the establishment of a 100-bed heart disease hospital in Kabul is an example of this. This hospital will not only operate in the treatment of heart patients but will also train specialist doctors within the country.”
Moreover, representatives of the Islamic Development Bank and construction companies, who will be involved in building this hospital, provided participants with a presentation detailing the construction process and stages of the hospital. Participants shared their views and asked questions, which were answered during the session.
