Private Health Sector Pledges Strong Support for Earthquake Victims in Eastern Afghanistan

Dr. Ahmad Khandan, Director of the Private Sector Coordination at the Ministry of Public Health, convened a meeting with private sector representatives to coordinate and deliver emergency assistance to the earthquake victims in eastern Afghanistan.

The meeting highlighted the important role of private healthcare institutions in times of crisis, and officials from private hospitals in Kabul province pledged their full cooperation.

As a result of the meeting, several important decisions were made, including the free transfer of approximately 1,400 injured individuals to private hospitals in Kabul province for treatment, the deployment of 40 fully equipped ambulances with medical personnel to Kunar province, and the delivery of humanitarian aid such as medicines, medical equipment, clothing, blankets, and food to the affected areas.

The Director of the Private Sector Coordination expressed gratitude to private hospitals for their support and emphasized the need for continued cooperation and coordination. He urged all healthcare institutions to actively contribute to this national effort in line with Islamic and humanitarian principles.
