MoPH Conducts Capacity-Building Workshop on Non-Communicable Diseases in Kunduz Province

A four-day capacity-building workshop was conducted for 15 doctors and 50 community health workers from health facilities in Kunduz Province by the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Prevention and Control Department under the Directorate General of Non-Communicable Diseases Prevention and Control of the Ministry of Public Health.

During the training program, participants received instruction on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, treatment and early diagnosis, referral of patients to health facilities, management of patients suffering from non-communicable diseases, and the provision of health counseling services.

Dr. Mohammad Sami Karimi, Head of the Non-Communicable Diseases Prevention and Control Department of the Ministry of Public Health, highlighted the important role of doctors and community health workers in preventing and controlling non-communicable diseases. He also emphasized that all health workers should share the knowledge and skills gained from the training with their colleagues in order to help strengthen capacity-building efforts in this sector further.
