Minister of Public Health holds a formal meeting in his office with representatives from UNICEF and donor agencies

The Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, held a formal meeting in his office with representatives from UNICEF and donor agencies involved in the healthcare sector.

During this meeting, which was also attended by officials from the Directorate of Research and Evaluation, the findings of the assessment of Primary Health Care (BPHS) and Essential Health Services (EPHS) in the provinces were presented to the leadership of the Ministry of Public Health through a comprehensive presentation.

Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, the Minister of Public Health, emphasized that the provision of standardized healthcare services to patients is an essential responsibility of the Ministry. In this context, he highlighted the importance of the timely delivery of pharmaceuticals to healthcare facilities, the maintenance and repair of critical medical equipment, the organization of refresher training programs for healthcare personnel, and the recruitment of qualified professionals. He urged the representatives from UNICEF and the donor agencies to place greater emphasis on these key areas.

In response, the representatives from UNICEF and the donor organizations assured the Ministry’s leadership of their continued commitment and collaborative efforts to improve these facets of the healthcare system.
