MoPH Lays Foundation Stone for Shah Wali Kot District General Hospital in Kandahar

During his visit to Kandahar Province, th Minister of Public Health of the IEA, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, laid the foundation stone for the Shah Wali Kot District General Hospital, a project valued at approximately AFN 40.5 million.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Public Health and his accompanying delegation, the Shah Wali Kot district governor, several other officials, tribal elders, and local residents. In his remarks, the Minister highlighted the hospital’s importance in providing essential healthcare services and addressing patients’ needs. He said such projects would improve healthcare services in remote areas and ensure timely access to essential care for local communities.

The Minister further stated that the Ministry of Public Health is working to ensure access to quality healthcare services across the country, particularly in remote districts, and to address people’s essential healthcare needs through the implementation of similar projects.

It is worth noting that the hospital is expected to be completed within 18 months.
