MoPH Joint Monitoring Team Assesses Healthcare Services in Kunar and Nuristan
Dr. Karimullah Halimi, Director of Monitoring of the Ministry of Public Health, together with a joint monitoring team, conducted comprehensive inspections of several hospitals and healthcare facilities in Kunar and Nuristan provinces.
During the inspections, attended by the Provincial Public Health Directors of Kunar and Nuristan, the Advisor to the Deputy Ministry of Health Services, and a UNICEF representative, the team comprehensively assessed the provision of healthcare services, immunization activities, the performance of healthcare workers, the quality of services, the availability of resources, maternal and child health, nutrition and emergency care services, laboratory and pharmacy services, as well as health information recording and reporting systems.
The inspections aimed to improve the quality of healthcare services, strengthen transparency in the health sector, and ensure the timely provision of standard healthcare. They also sought to identify and address existing challenges, enhance the quality of care, ensure appropriate patient treatment, and meet healthcare needs.
During the inspections, healthcare facility managers and staff shared their challenges, needs, and recommendations with the team. The officials assured them of continued support and efforts to address the identified issues.
Provincial officials also described such inspections as vital to improving the quality of healthcare services, ensuring the provision of standard healthcare, and enabling the timely identification and resolution of challenges.
