Ministry of Public Health Conducts Public Awareness Campaign on Drug Prevention and the Dangers of Substance Abuse in Kabul’s Alauddin Park
A public awareness and drug prevention program was conducted at Alauddin Park to raise awareness among citizens about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to prevent its spread in public places.
The program, attended by local residents, the youth, community elders, and relevant officials, provided participants with information on drug prevention strategies, different types of drugs, the causes of addiction, and its adverse health, social, and economic impacts. It also highlighted the important role of families, educational institutions, and the wider community in preventing addiction and supporting those affected by substance abuse.
The Drug Prevention Team of the MoPH’s National Addiction Treatment Program noted that drug addiction remains a major societal challenge and that addressing it requires the collective efforts of the public and relevant institutions.
At the conclusion of the program, awareness brochures and informational materials were distributed to participants, and the continuation and expansion of similar initiatives in other public spaces were emphasized.
