During the meeting, they held discussions on providing equipment for Al-Shifa Hospital, carrying out capacity-building programs in traditional medicine, and discussing the start and process of the expansion and reconstruction of Mirwais Regional Hospital in Kandahar.

The Minister stressed the importance of strengthening the healthcare system by building the capacity of health workers, expanding health services, and properly equipping hospitals. He also called on the Chinese Ambassador to support the start of the reconstruction and expansion of Mirwais Regional Hospital, provide necessary equipment for Al-Shifa Hospital, and assist in setting up an institute for traditional medicine.

In response, the Chinese Ambassador expressed his full support for the reconstruction and expansion of Mirwais Regional Hospital, building the capacity of healthcare workers, and providing essential equipment and medicines.

He said efforts would be made, in close coordination with the Ministry of Public Health, to move forward with the reconstruction and expansion work.

At the end of the meeting, he also made a commitment to support the training of healthcare workers in the field of traditional medicine.
