Minister of Public Health Convenes a meeting with ministries’ representatives and relevant officials to discuss the establishment of cancer treatment centers

The Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, His Excellency Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, convened a meeting with ministries’ representatives and relevant officials to discuss the establishment of cancer treatment centers.

Present at the meeting were the deputy minister for Health Development and Policy, Dr. Mohammad Hassan Ghiasy; the deputy minister for Finance and Administration, Mawlawi Mohammad Ishaq Sahibzada; central directors of the Ministry, and representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Higher Education, and Atomic Energy. The discussion focused on forming a committee to devise strategies for establishing cancer treatment centers.

His Excellency Jalali appointed a committee led by the General Director of Planning and Policy, Dr. Mirwais Ahmadzai; the Director of Diagnostic Services; the Oncology Project Representative; and representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Higher Education, and Atomic Energy. The committee will address technical issues and, after analysis, present their findings and agenda to the inter-ministerial commission to ensure organized and efficient progress in establishing the centers.
