Inter-Ministerial Committee Meets to Strengthen Enforcement of Anti-Smuggling Law for Food, Medicines, and Health Products
A meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for the Implementation of the Law on Preventing the Smuggling of Food, Medicines, and Health Products was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Public Health of the IEA, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali.
The meeting, held at the Ministry of Public Health, was attended by the Deputy Minister for Food and Drug Affairs of the Ministry of Public Health, Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid; the Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, Mawlawi Sadr Azam; the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Public Health, Sheikh Mohammad Tahir Halim; as well as directors-general and representatives from the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of National Defense, the General Directorate of Intelligence, the Supreme Court, Kabul Municipality, and several other relevant institutions.
During the meeting, the H.E. the Minister of Public Health described the implementation of the Law on Preventing the Smuggling of Food, Medicines, and Health Products as an important achievement and an effective step toward improving the quality of healthcare services in the country and preventing the circulation of substandard medicines and food products.
He also called on the committee members to provide comprehensive cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health to ensure the effective enforcement of the law.
In addition, the participants approved 11 measures aimed at implementing the law to prevent the smuggling of food, medicines, and health products. The relevant institutions were tasked with carrying out their assigned responsibilities and presenting progress reports to the committee at its next meeting.
