Inauguration of Malnutrition Treatment Ward at Dawlatabad Hospital, Balkh

A new 10-bed ward dedicated to the treatment of malnourished patients has been inaugurated at the 50-bed district hospital in Dawlatabad, Balkh province, at a cost of USD 20,000.
The ward, which comprises five treatment rooms, was established through the efforts of the Balkh Provincial Public Health Directorate in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO). The initiative aims to ensure timely, high-quality, and standardized care for individuals suffering from malnutrition.
An official opening ceremony was held, attended by senior representatives of the Balkh Public Health Directorate, WHO officials assigned to the province, healthcare professionals, and local community leaders.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Sayed Ahmad Shadab, Deputy Director of Public Health in Balkh, expressed his appreciation for WHO’s continued support and urged medical staff to maintain their services with dedication, sincerity, and professionalism.
