Deputy Minister of Food and Drugs Visits Pharmaceutical Quality Control Laboratory and Medical Equipment Manufacturing Facility in Kazakhstan
Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, Deputy Minister of Food and Drugs of the Ministry of Public Health, and his accompanying delegation visited a pharmaceutical and health products quality control laboratory and a medical equipment manufacturing facility during their official visit to Kazakhstan.
During his visit to various departments of the Quality Control Laboratory for Medicines and Health Products, which operates under Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Health, the Deputy Minister held technical discussions with Kazakh officials on future cooperation between the two countries, the exchange of expertise, and the continuation of similar technical visits.
The delegation also visited the JULDYZ KENAN medical equipment manufacturing facility and its quality control laboratory in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The Deputy Minister requested the company’s officials to provide a list of its 120 manufactured products, along with their competitive prices, so that they could be compared with similar imported products currently available in the Afghan market. This would help explore procurement opportunities to meet the needs of both the public and private healthcare sectors.
Furthermore, the company pledged to assess, in the long term, the feasibility of establishing joint medical equipment manufacturing operations in Afghanistan in cooperation with Afghan manufacturers. This initiative would aim to facilitate the transfer of relevant technology to Afghanistan and enable the domestic production of essential healthcare products.
