Clean Hands: A Simple Way to Prevent Diseases
Hands are one of the main ways germs are spread. Regular handwashing helps prevent the spread of infectious diseases, particularly respiratory and diarrheal illnesses.
Wash your hands regularly with soap and clean water, especially at these five key times:
1. Before preparing food
2. Before eating or feeding a child
3. After using the toilet
4. After coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose
5. Whenever your hands are visibly dirty
Note: If your hands are not visibly dirty, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer is also an effective way to clean your hands.
