The Deputy Minister of Health Services at the Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlavi Abdulwali Haqani, participated in a two-day workshop, which was primarily dedicated to the enhancement of medical oxygen infrastructure.

In his opening remarks at the workshop, Haqaniq articulated his enthusiasm for the establishment of this initiative, emphasizing the critical significance of oxygen within the healthcare sector. He asserted that “medical oxygen is indispensable for preserving lives in emergency situations and healthcare services, with no viable alternative available.”

Moreover, Haqqani called for the collaboration and collective endeavors of health partners to fortify the medical oxygen sector, expressing optimism that the workshop would facilitate the formulation of a cohesive strategy aimed at advancing the oxygen ecosystem in Afghanistan.

Organized in partnership with the World Health Organization, this two-day workshop sought not only to convene health partners but also to collaboratively devise a comprehensive plan for the development of the oxygen system in Afghanistan.
