MoPH and IRC Sign MoU to Provide Life-Saving Services to Drought-Affected Communities

The Ministry of Public Health signed an eleven-month Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), valued at USD 692,640, to provide integrated, life-saving health, nutrition, MHPSS, and RCCE services to drought-affected communities in Kunduz and Herat provinces.

The MoU was signed to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare services and help address the health needs of local communities. Under the MoU, five mobile health teams will provide healthcare services to 25,000 residents in the two provinces, while creating employment opportunities for 40 people in the health sector.

Meanwhile, representatives of the IRC reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the project in line with all established standards over the eleven-month period, with a particular focus on meeting the healthcare needs of local communities.
