First Successful Endoscopic Nasal Tumor Surgery Performed at Balkh Regional Hospital

For the first time, a Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) for a nasal tumor has been successfully performed at the Abu Ali Sina Balkhi Regional Hospital in Balkh province.

The surgery was performed by the hospital’s Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist team on a 45-year-old patient suffering from nasal congestion and headaches. The patient was discharged in good condition after successful treatment and observation.

Notably, the hospital’s ENT department provided services to a total of 23,726 patients during the past 1404 solar year. Of these, 881 were admitted, while 874 underwent major surgical procedures, reflecting the department’s broad range of specialized healthcare services.
