Ministry of Public Health Holds Meeting with UNICEF to Address Challenges and Improve Basic Health Services
The Deputy Minister for Health Services of the Ministry of Public Health, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, held a meeting with UNICEF officials to discuss the existing challenges and find solutions for improving basic health services.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister, advisors, several central directors, the Nangarhar Director of Public Health, UNICEF Deputy Representative Ms. Adrea Gims, and other officials. They discussed ways to improve and strengthen the quality of EPHS and BPHS services at the provincial level.
The Deputy Minister stressed the importance of ensuring the availability of essential medicines and necessary facilities in clinics and health centers. He also told UNICEF officials that, for better program implementation, the budget should be properly managed and staff salaries should be paid on time.
They also discussed joint monitoring between the Ministry of Public Health and UNICEF to further improve health services at health centers, and agreed on a plan to carry out this monitoring.
