The products, belonging to a private company, were identified and seized by food inspection teams from the Deputy Minister’s Office for Food and Drugs. These teams carried out routine inspections across various districts of Kabul, including food outlets and the central warehouse of the said company. Following the inspections, the items were placed under quarantine. In total, 11,000 boxes of expired beverages — weighing approximately 65 tonnes — were collected and subsequently destroyed in the Gazak area, in the presence of representatives from the relevant government agencies.

Authorities confirmed that, since the beginning of the current year, the Deputy Minister’s Office for Food and Drugs has confiscated and destroyed 140 tonnes of expired and substandard food products across the country as part of its ongoing campaign to ensure food safety and public health.
