Afghanistan and Uzbekistan Hold Kabul Meeting to Boost Economic and Pharmaceutical Cooperation

A meeting aimed at strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in Kabul, with the participation of health sector officials, government representatives, and businessmen from both countries.

Both sides emphasized expanding economic ties, facilitating bilateral trade, and enhancing cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, describing it as a key step toward self-reliance, improved healthcare services, and economic growth.

The Deputy Minister of Public Health for Food and Drugs, Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, described the meeting as an important opportunity to expand cooperation, and reaffirmed the commitment of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to support investment and facilitate business for traders.

Abdullah Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, also announced his country’s readiness for comprehensive cooperation with Afghanistan, particularly in the field of pharmaceutical manufacturing.
