Afghanistan and Uzbekistan Deepen Bilateral Health Cooperation in High-Level Meeting

The Deputy Minister for Food and Drug Affairs at the Ministry of Public Health, Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, held a formal meeting with Uzbekistan’s Ambassador, Oybek Usmanov, and his delegation in Kabul to strengthen bilateral health cooperation.

The meeting focused on enhancing pharmaceutical imports, streamlining the supply of medical and nutritional goods, and sharing laboratory diagnostics. The sides also explored expanding bilateral trade and boosting institutional coordination in the health sector.

Deputy Minister Zahid emphasized the critical need for sustained access to high-quality medicines and medical supplies. He advocated for closer alignment in laboratory data exchange and called for deepened engagement in regulatory and technical collaboration.

The Uzbek delegation welcomed the initiative, reaffirming their government’s commitment to advancing joint efforts. They pledged to facilitate cross-border health initiatives and scale up cooperation in line with shared priorities.
