MoPH Deputy Minister Engages WHO, UNICEF, and Partner Organizations to Strengthen Coordination and Improve Health Service
The Deputy Minister for Health Service of the Ministry of Public Health, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, held a meeting with representatives from the World Health Organization, UNICEF, implementing partners, and the Afghan Red Crescent Society.
The meeting, attended by Advisors from the Offices of the Minister and the Deputy Ministers, focused on enhancing collaboration, delivering high-quality health services, increasing public trust, expanding immunization coverage (particularly for polio), reaching underserved areas, addressing past challenges, and reviewing upcoming plans.
His Excellency Haqqani expressed appreciation for the cooperation of partner organizations and emphasized that all activities must align with the National Health Policy to ensure services are safe, effective, and of high quality.
He highlighted the Ministry’s success in controlling polio in many provinces, attributing it to joint efforts. He stressed the importance of transparency, accountability, and avoiding duplication, to use resources efficiently and effectively.
Partner organizations commended the Ministry’s initiatives and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and coordination in the health sector.
