Ministry of Public Health Signs US$64,547 Contract to Strengthen Healthcare Services in Nangarhar Province
The Ministry of Public Health signed a contract worth US$64,547 with the United Medical Center for Afghans/Rehabilitation Program for Afghanistan (UMCA/RPA) to strengthen and expand healthcare services for residents of Nangarhar Province.
The one-year agreement aims to improve the quality of healthcare services, increase access to essential health services, and reduce the health challenges faced by local communities. Under the agreement, 42,083 residents of the province will receive healthcare services through one Basic Health Center (BHC), while 13 people will be provided with employment opportunities in the health sector.
Meanwhile, representatives of UMCA/RPA reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the project over the one-year period in full compliance with the established standards and to giving special attention to addressing the healthcare needs of the local population.
