Minister of Public Health Visits Nangarhar and Kunar to Assess Health Services for Earthquake Victims

Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, the Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, along with his accompanying delegation, traveled to Nangarhar and Kunar provinces to assess health services and provide comprehensive assistance to the earthquake-affected people.
His Excellency Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, Minister of Public Health, together with a number of officials, first visited Nangarhar province and then went to Nurgal district of Kunar province, particularly to the areas of Mazardara and Deir, where a large number of residents have been affected.
The purpose of this visit was to evaluate the available health services and the urgent medical needs of the earthquake victims, deliver health support, review the process of transferring the wounded, and directly observe the situation on the ground. During the trip, the Minister praised the efforts of health officials, institutions, and local residents, and issued necessary instructions to the relevant authorities for the provision of improved services.
It is worth mentioning that from the very first moments after the earthquake, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Public Health’s leadership, health centers in four provinces and in Kabul were placed on high alert to ensure immediate response. In addition, medical teams were dispatched overnight to the affected areas, and rescue operations are still underway. From last night until now, hundreds of injured individuals in Kunar, Nangarhar, and Laghman provinces have received medical treatment.
