The inauguration was attended by the Minister of Public Health, Emirati officials, representatives from the private sector, and numerous academic figures. In his address, His Excellency Jalali emphasized the significance of the event and underscored the importance of producing high-quality medicines domestically.

H.E Jalali, stated that his efforts are dedicated to creating opportunities for domestic investors in the pharmaceutical sector, with the aim of achieving national self-sufficiency. He also emphasized that enhancing the quality of medicines and supporting locally produced pharmaceuticals are among his top priorities.

Dr. Mirwais Elmy, the founder of Elmy Complex Pharma, said: Our goal is not only production, but ensuring quality in line with international standards, building public trust, and strengthening the health sector.

Notably, a total investment of approximately $25 million has been made in the Elmy Complex Pharma manufacturing plant, of which around $3 million has been allocated specifically to the specialized injectable Cephalosporin segment.

According to officials present at the inauguration, this project will provide the public with quality and affordable medicines, reduce the need for imports, and strengthen domestic production—an important step toward the country’s self-sufficiency, national production, and the development of the health sector.
